My creative process starts here. The pages of a sketchbook unravel to take you on a journey, a journey that is much like a landscape of a dream. Unconscious images intertwined with reality, perfectly juxtaposed for a riveting story. For me, my sketch book is a place to observe life as it takes place around me, Im a people watcher, and often times my sketchbook is a reflection of that, but its also a place to let my imagination run wild, uninhibited by pressures to compose a perfect composition, a place for adventure. There is something so raw and full of life that I capture in my sketchbooks, which doesnt always translate to a finished painting that has been labored over for hours on end. Its that rawness and spontaneity that keeps me coming back to the tiny pages day after day, attempting to find ways to bring that life into my other work.
